Yllera Winery

Yllera became famous because of its white wine. They were the first winery from the Rueda region before Denomination of Origin existed. They were pioneers in night-harvest, white wine barrel fermentation, and concrete eggs process in Spain. Four years ago, Jean Claude Berrouete, former winemaker of Chateu Petrús, began with Yllera Winery a unique project in Spain. All his life Jean Claude Berrouete was making wines from France, but when he retired, he felt the need to make wines in other regions around the world. Yllera was one of the few wineries he chose, combining tradition, reputation and innovation.
